Terms and Conditions
Full Terms of Business
Boiler Boys London operates as a trading name of Harrow Gas Services Ltd. These terms apply when you book services, pay deposits, accept quotations, or authorise work.
1. Attendance & Diagnostic Service
A charge of £105 + VAT applies for attendance, fault diagnosis, and professional safety advice. The initial assessment relies on visual inspection and testing at the time of the visit. The company does not guarantee identification of all faults, or that the initial diagnosis will resolve every issue.
2. Labour & Repair Work
A minimum of one (1) hour labour will be charged where any repair or intervention is carried out. First-hour labour is pre-approved following diagnosis. Work exceeding one hour requires additional approval.
3. Labour Rates
- Weekday daytime (8am to 4:30pm): £105 per hour + VAT
- Weekday after-hours: £155 per hour + VAT
- Weekend daytime (8am to 1pm): £145 per hour + VAT
- Weekend after-hours: £165 per hour + VAT
4. Further Work & Approval
No additional work will be carried out without your approval. All costs will be confirmed before proceeding. We reserve the right to decline to carry out further work following diagnosis.
5. Scope of Visit & Boiler Servicing
Services address only the reported issues. Boiler services include inspection and safety checks but not full strip-downs unless agreed separately. The company is not responsible for failures arising from pre-existing conditions revealed during work.
6. Temporary Heating & Repairs
Temporary heating solutions are discretionary and subject to availability, with separate charges. Temporary repairs do not guarantee a permanent fix. Where work needs rectification, customers must contact the company for inspection.
7. Third-Party Work & Advice
We accept no responsibility for any work carried out by third parties based on our diagnosis, recommendations, or advice.
8. Parts, Warranty & Return Visits
Parts supplied by us are covered by a 12-month warranty. This covers parts only, not labour or additional visits. No warranty applies to customer-supplied parts, and we are not responsible for the performance or suitability of any parts supplied by the customer.
9. Estimates, Quotations & Installations
Estimates indicate expected costs; quotations are fixed prices. Deposits (typically 50%) are required for larger installations. Customers must verify that selected products meet their requirements.
10. Payment
- Payment is due in full upon completion of each visit, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Cash, card, or pre-arranged bank transfer are accepted.
- Prices are not subject to renegotiation following completion of the work.
- The person who booked the service remains responsible for payment. Where access is provided by a third party (tenant, neighbour, family member), the person who booked the service remains responsible for payment.
- If we are unable to carry out the visit due to lack of access, incorrect information, or circumstances beyond our control, the attendance fee will still apply.
- Unpaid amounts may accrue interest and recovery costs.
11. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate information, allow safe access, disclose hazards, and maintain safe working conditions.
12. Materials & Ownership
All materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full.
13. Limitation of Liability
The company is not liable for pre-existing faults, hidden issues, consequential losses, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our control.
14. Cancellations & Complaints
We reserve the right to charge for late cancellations or missed appointments. If you are not satisfied, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to resolve the issue.
15. Air Conditioning & Installation Works
- Electrical works: Unless specified in the quotation, electrical work is excluded. Third-party electrical work requires separate responsibility.
- Scaffolding & specialist access: Scaffolding, access equipment, and permits are excluded unless specifically quoted.
- Pipework & drainage: Pipework, trunking, communication cables, electrical cabling, condensate drainage, and associated installation routes will be installed in practical locations determined during installation.
- Performance: We do not guarantee that specific room temperatures will be achieved under all operating conditions.
- Equipment availability: Installation dates depend on equipment availability. The company is not liable for delays from shortages or weather.
- Manufacturer warranty: Manufacturer warranties are provided by the manufacturer and remain subject to the manufacturer's own terms, conditions, and registration requirements.
- Workmanship warranty: Our workmanship is warranted for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, excluding normal wear, misuse, and maintenance issues.
- Variations & additional works: Work not specified in the quotation requires separate approval and charges.
16. Acceptance of Terms
Payment of a deposit, acceptance of a quotation (whether written or verbal), or instruction to proceed with work constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Business. These terms apply alongside any signed on-site agreements.
